  • Berwick-upon-Tweed is town in the county of Northumberland and is the northernmost town in England, on the east coast at the mouth of the River Tweed. The Royal Border Bridge crosses between Berwick-upon-Tweed and Tweedmouth in Northumberland, England and therefore does not actually span the border between England and Scotland as it's name implies.

  • Berwick Bridge, also known as the Old Bridge, spans the River Tweed in Berwick-upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England. The current structure is a Grade I listed stone bridge built between 1611 and 1624.
  • The Town Hall (1754) houses a ring of bells above the present day Council Chambers.
  • No. 10 Bridge End House. Before building the New Bridge in 1928 this  was one of the busiest corners of Berwick upon Tweed. All traffic between Edinburgh and London plus local people had to cross this old bridge.

  • Laurence Stephen Lowry (1887-1976) is an artist famous for his match-stick men paintings. His paintings of the cobblestone streets and seaside scenes in Berwick upon Tweed were created when he holidayed there from the 1930's to the summer before his death in 1976. the Lowry Trail follows Lowry's work throughout the town and reveals some of the hidden gem therein.
